Als je in Florida wilt werken als een gecertificeerde verpleegassistent of een verpleegster, dien je een vergunning aan te vragen bij het verzorgingscentrum van de staat. De licentievereisten van het bord variëren afhankelijk van uw beroep, ervaring en omstandigheden. Algemene vereisten
Alle kandidaten moeten voldoen aan algemene criteria tijdens het licentieproces. Achtergrondcontroles hebben betrekking op criminele geschiedenis, veroordelingen, gezondheidszorgfraude en eerdere licentieproblemen. U moet ook elektronische vingerafdrukken indienen. Tenzij u een vergunning voor een verpleegkundig assistent aanvraagt, moet u een door het bestuur goedgekeurd programma ter voorkoming van medische fouten van twee uur uitvoeren voordat u uw rijbewijs kunt ontvangen.
Alleen voor CNA's
Verplegingsassistenten verdienen licenties door CNA-examen of wederkerigheid. Om de examenroute af te leggen, moet u minstens 18 jaar oud zijn met een middelbare schooldiploma of een gelijkwaardig diploma. Je postsecundair onderwijs moet de afronding van een Enterprise Florida Banen- en Education Partnership Grant-programma omvatten en een slaagscore op een door de Board goedgekeurd competentieafdeling voor verpleegkundig assistent. Als u al in een andere staat een certificering hebt en in het register staat, kunt u op basis van wederkerigheid een licentie aanvragen zonder het CNA-examen af te leggen.
RN en LPN Vereisten
Florida geeft RN- en LPN-licenties uit door National Council Licensure Exam, of NCLEX, en door goedkeuring. Voor de NCLEX moet je geslaagd zijn voor een programma voor verpleegkundige educatie goedgekeurd door de staat Florida of geaccrediteerd met een NCLEX-code door de National Council of State Boards of Nursing. Ervaren verpleegkundigen kunnen een aanvraag indienen bij goedkeuring. Dit kan van toepassing zijn op u als u een geldig brevet hebt van een andere staat of al geslaagd bent voor examens van de NCLEX- of State Board-testpool. Werkervaring als verpleegster gedurende twee van de voorgaande drie jaar telt ook.
Klinische specialiteitenvereisten
Klinisch verpleegkundig specialisten zijn ervaren verpleegkundigen die gespecialiseerd zijn in bepaalde categorieën, zoals ziektes, populaties en omgevingen. U moet beschikken over een huidige RN-licentie van Florida en een master in de klinische verpleging om een CNS-licentie aan te vragen. U moet ook een CNS-certificering hebben of bewijzen dat er geen certificering beschikbaar is in uw vakgebied. De certificering moet afkomstig zijn van een nationale instantie die door het bestuur wordt geaccepteerd. Als er geen certificeringsinstantie in uw vakgebied is, moet u een beëdigde verklaring overleggen waarin staat dat u 1.000 uur klinische ervaring in uw specialiteit hebt. Je moet ten minste 500 uur van deze ervaring hebben voltooid nadat je je master hebt verdiend.
ARNP Vereisten
Alle gevorderde geregistreerde nurse practitioner of ARNP, aanvragers moeten een Florida RN-licentie hebben. Je hebt misschien ook een masterdiploma nodig, afhankelijk van wanneer je je opleiding tot verpleegkundige hebt voltooid. Dit geldt voor verpleegkundigen die zijn afgestudeerd op of na 1 oktober 1998 en voor gecertificeerde anesthesiemedewerkers die op of na 1 oktober 2001 zijn afgestudeerd. Je hebt geen master nodig als je vóór die datums bent afgestudeerd.
